Are You Ready for SD-WAN Automation?

What is required to achieve E2E (end-to-end) automation in services such as SD-WAN?

In services such as SD-WAN, it is essential to standardize the interfaces between the business and orchestration platforms of the same operator as well as these same interfaces between operators. The Open APIs published by MEF and TM Forum, for interactions between operators, and Legato and Presto, for integrations between platforms of the same operator, play a crucial role. Intraway implements and uses these Open APIs in its products.

Another important definition is to standardize the SD-WAN service, and its attributes, which allows operators and customers to use a common language, and in this case, MEF has taken the lead by publishing standards such as MEF70.

Finally, we believe that the next step is to standardize the SLA monitoring of SD-WAN services between operators, to achieve end-to-end secured services and the implementation of closed-loop automation processes. MEF is working on this for the next version of MEF70.1.

What capabilities are essential in an LSO solution to support services such as SD-WAN?

It must be a multi-vendor solution; this is to support any vendor of SD-WAN on the market and offer a standard interface to business applications for the activation of SD-WAN services. This includes implementing industry-standard APIs for the activation of services such as Legato, Interlude, and TMF641.

Another important capability for the solution is to be cloud-ready, meaning that it can be fully deployed in a cloud provider and can scale the processing capacity automatically using microservices and deployments in container managers such as Kubernetes.

Additionally, offering codeless capabilities to add new services and integrations, this is the ability to add new services to the solution through configuration, accelerating the time-to-market of new services.

What is Intraway doing to bring digital transformation to service providers?

To help service providers accelerate digital transformation and the launch of SD-WAN services, we are presenting Symphonica, which is our orchestration solution for commercial and residential services, multi-vendor, codeless, and cloud services -ready, which uses the MEF and TM Forum Open APIs.

Intraway has also developed use cases and workflows to help our customers with SD-WAN and SASE orchestration, 5G, iOT and Network Edge technologies.
