A breach on a single edge device can be isolated so that it will not affect the whole system. Edge computing uses more than one data center to distribute data, and it does not leave the network through the internet. Unlike in central data processing, the distribution of data at the centers offers protection when there is an attack.

In edge computing, there is high scalability that makes it easy to expand the network by adding the number of processors, data centers, and devices. It does not affect any parts of the network performance, especially the IoT systems, which generate large amounts of data. Edge distributes the fragments of data simultaneously for separate processing. The distribution efficiently reduces data traffic and processing without slowing or causing a breakdown in the system.
