Set-Top-Box Management

The Set-Top Box Management allows integrating easily your management systems with network elements (controllers and STB) since uses the same simple interfaces than the rest of the platform.

Additionally, Intraway allows to earn advantages and business possibilities offered by this type of controllers, so complex or impossible to get in the past.

Benefits and Functionalities

A. Basic and Premium Packages Purchase and Activation

The management system sends to Intraway the activation request of a basic or premium package.

Intraway notifies the billing system about the request and immediately activates the requested package in the corresponding Controller.

B. Pay Per View Purchase

Either through Internet self-management site or customer management system, a subscriber requests the activation of a PPV product.

Intraway notifies the billing system about the request and immediately activates the requested package in the corresponding Controller for the appointed time.

C. Subscription Purchase from home using auto-management

Using the auto-management site from Internet, the subscriber can request the subscription to a Premium package or to additional packages in addition to those already purchased.

Intraway notifies the billing system about the request and immediately activates the requested package in the corresponding Controller.

D. Movie Purchase

The provider transmits the same movie, for example four times, beginning every 30 minutes, in four different channels. Intraway and the controller are in charge of simulating the movie starts every 30 minutes in the same channel.

A subscriber can request, through the customer management system or the web auto-management, the possibility to view that movie.

Intraway will be in charge of activating the requested movie to that subscriber for the time it lasts or, by policy, for a longer period.

E. Message Delivery to TV

Over the request from the management or billing system, Intraway can send automatized messages to subscriber TVs transferring different communications such as deferment notifications (only to subscribers with arrears), birthday greetings, events information, etc.

This type of message is static and, since the messages are the same for the assigned subscriber group, easier to manage. These messages are useful to transmit important information or to get customer loyalty.

F. Subscriber Custom Message Delivery

Over the request from the management system, depending on controller capacity, Intraway can personalize the messages in the subscriber's screen either to send information about account status or to insert names or personal information.

This type of message allows a more direct communication with subscriber; however, each controller has a limited capacity for sending this type of message.

G. Premium Packages and PPV in Hotels

Adding the hotel control module (which enables to interact with Fidelio system) Intraway allows trading Premium Packages and PPV sales in association with different hotels, charging the service cost in the guest account.

The same additional module produces periodic reports to make the clearing and billing, hotel by hotel and chain by chain.

H. Management System Interfaces

The open interfaces with the management system allows your IT department to integrate completely the current company's management system with the data captured and distributed by Intraway as well as be able to notify Intraway about every event that can be generated in the customer management or billing system, such as subscriber or package registration, event or Premium packages purchase, subscriber deactivation or cancellation, etc.

I. IVR integration Interfaces

IVR systems allow to interact with your subscribers and installers by phone in an automatic way, not needing an operator to purchase, modify or install a product.

Intraway offers the needed interfaces to implement this type of systems directly without delays.

J. Multiple Controllers Automatic Management (multi-city)

Intraway allows to automatically manage the quantity of controllers your company needs. By this way a centralized management can be done without additional effort, with any set-top-box, wherever the geographic location is or controlled to be connected.

K. Multiple Controllers Synchronization at Contingency

Intraway enables to group controllers so that each one receives the same commands the rest of the group receives. By this way, if a controller is out of service, the network can be connected to another controller from the same group and this controller can be in charge of managing the network without the need of any additional configuration.
