DOCSIS & PacketCable Provisioning
The DOCSIS & PacketCable Provisioning solution includes all what is needed for managing broadband services using DOCSIS Cable Modems and Telephony using PacketCable devices and softswitches. To include all the necessary implies providing tools to supervise and manage as well as the appropriated data stream for a proper technical-administrative performance and excellent service.
DOCSIS Self-Provisioning
This module frees your company from manual activations, thus allowing installers to activate cable modems from customers' home without the need to get in contact with the NOC or any other sector within the company.
When the customer requests the service, the system assigns an activation code related to his account. When the cable modem is connected to the network for the first time, Intraway automatically detects the MAC address of the device, captures the browser of the subscriber in an activation website, and requests the activation code. Once the code is validated, Intraway activates the cable modem with the QoS contracted by the customer and sends the information to the CRM or the legacy subscriber management system in order to finish the installation process, take out the modem from the installers' inventory, assign the device to the customer's sub-inventory and start billing the subscriber.
|
One of the most important advantages of this module is the feature that assures the quality of each installation, for Internet as well as for telephony, avoiding the fulfilment of the installation if the power and SNR values in the device as well as in the CMTS are out of pre-established ranges.
PacketCable Self-Provisioning
The PacketCable Self-Provisioning Module is based on an IVR (included) that receives all the calls made from any device that has not been previously activated.
The installation in 5 steps: |
 |
|
One
The installer arrives to a subscriber's home and simply connects the MTA and a telephone. Intraway detects the new MTA and activates it in the softswitch with a temporary phone line. |
|
Two
The installer picks up the telephone and the call is transferred directly to the IVR (included in Intraway), that notifies the RF and SNR levels which have to be in range. |
|
Three
Once the RF and SNR levels are OK, and after entering a valid activation code, Intraway deactivates the temporary line and assigns the subscriber the definitive one with services and call features that had been selected during the purchase. |
|
Four
Additionally, this module can be used for auto-upgrade of services without needing the installer to be present at subscriber's home. The subscriber replaces the cable modem by an eMTA acquired in a Mall or by mail, and then communicates to the Intraway IVR which requests information from the last invoice. |
|
Five
When Intraway recognizes the subscriber, deactivates the Internet service in the previous cable modem, activates them in the new one and communicates with the call center to select the desired services for the phone line. |
Captive Portal for Debt and Collection Management
The Captive Portal module offers you the possibility to communicate with your subscribers accomplishing 100% effectiveness.
From the moment that you decide, when the subscriber wants to access any website, Intraway will redirect his/her browser to your captive portal showing the message that your company wants to communicate. After reading the message, the customer is allowed to continue to the desired website. |
Utilizing this innovative system you can easily communicate news, events, promotions, contract changes and any other message, being sure that the customer has read and acknowledged the message. |
Fraud Control and Automatic Firmware Management
While deploying Internet services, fraud consumes bandwidth and can generate
network disruptions. While deploying telephony, fraud can cause embarrassing interconnection costs and even the failure of the entire project.
|
Intraway’s fraud control module addresses this issue reporting the cloned cable modems and E-MTA MAC addresses while the firmware management
module keeps the devices with a secure, qualified firmware
since it forces the devices to update whatever version they have
every time they try to register on the network |
Traffic Billing
The traffic management module analyzes the bytes
transferred by each device and stores the results aggregated
in small periods, allowing different technical support and
billing tasks.
For the business model that allows web surfing with monthly traffic limits, the system uses its own captive portal in order to inform the customer that his credit has been used and that an action is needed to purchase additional credits (megs or gigs). |
In order to better service technical support requests, this module adds to the customer care application an historical graph of traffic consumption per cable modem in 4-hour intervals.
|
Time Based Billing
The time management module allows the simulation of virtual connections and disconnections through the captive portal and a special popup window. Each time the subscriber wants to surf the web, he will be required to log in thru the captive portal website. When the customer finishes, he must disconnect by clicking in the disconnect button. When the subscriber reaches his credit limit, the system will automatically redirect his browser to the captive portal where it will inform the situation and will invite the subscriber to pay an additional fee in order to continue surfing the web.
|
This module enables your company to offer cheaper service plans that include a time credit and a certain additional fee if the customer exceeds its monthly limit. At the end of each period, Intraway will report to the billing system the amounts of time consumed per subscriber, how much of that time was included and how much corresponds to additional time that has to be billed separately. |
Proactive Monitoring of Cable Modems and E-MTAs
The Proactive Network Monitoring module continuously verifies the state of several indicators provided by each network device, including CMTSs, Cable Modems and E-MTAs. This module exploits the information wisely, discovering trends, active problems and hidden issues. |
The immediate notification of trends and problems allows the administrator to apply
corrective actions
even before the
subscriber
notices
any trouble. |
